Fairy Tree Cottage hand built pottery clay fantasy original lighted kiln fired

Description

Hand built from natural clay slabs and coils, this sculpture was created in the likeness of an old tree trunk style fairy dwelling.  The cottage is hand painted and few coats of acrylic sealer has been applied. The bottom has been covered in felt in order to prevent scratching of the table or shelf that it will be displayed upon. The branches are not clay, but actual tree branches that have been coated in a thin clay based paint and they are still fairly breakable, as dried limbs are.  Holes were made into the clay prior to being placed into the kiln for them to be fit into once the piece had been fired. If a couple of the branches get broken, it would not be a disaster, as tree branches get broken all of the time in nature! The little door on the tree does not have hinges and is to remain ajar for peeping inside.  As you can see in the photos there is a gnome's head (or green man) carved into the "roof" area. Bits of real dried mosses have been attached along some areas, and then coated with acrylic varnish, to give a more natural ambiance to
